MIPTV sets the scene for media and content in 2011

It’s MIPTV down in Cannes this week and it’s a fantastic opportunity to track the latest trends, themes and developments going on in ‘the world’s entertainment content market’. As the first MIP Market of the year, MIPTV gives the world its first taste of the newest programmes, freshest formats and latest innovations for TV, Internet, Mobile and all Video-rich platforms. So, if you’re interested in how the media and content landscape is developing in 2011, it’s well worth dipping into.

Aside from wry smiles at the launch of Arnie’s ‘The Governator’ which is well worth checking out, editorial in the MIP Daily is being drawn towards social content, trends in second screen viewing and the various expansion plans internationally of different media businesses.

From our side, our music TV channel client, Vintage TV has announced details of ‘advanced discussions’ with broadcasters in territories including France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Turkey. The relevance of music video content has near universal relevance which appears to be why the channel is attracting interest.
